Install Tips

  • Prepare the Surface:Before installation, clean the surface of the rear of your Model Y thoroughly. Use a mild detergent and water to remove dirt, dust, and any residue. Dry the area completely with a microfiber cloth. For best results, ensure that the surface is free of any oil or wax.
  • Peel Off the Adhesive Backing:The spoiler comes with high-quality double-sided automotive adhesive tape. Carefully peel off the backing paper from the adhesive strip on the spoiler. Be careful not to touch the adhesive surface to avoid contamination or loss of adhesive strength.
  • Position the Spoiler:Align the spoiler with the rear edge of your Tesla Model Y, ensuring it is positioned correctly and symmetrically. Make sure the edges are straight and even, as this will help ensure the best aesthetic and functional results.
  • Press and Attach:Once the spoiler is positioned correctly, press it firmly against the rear edge of the vehicle. Apply even pressure along the entire surface of the spoiler to ensure the adhesive sticks securely.
  • Hold in Place:For a strong bond, press the spoiler down for about 15 minutes to ensure the adhesive fully adheres to the surface. You may also want to gently use a cloth or soft tool to press the edges down to ensure full contact.
  • Allow for Curing Time:After installation, allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before exposing the vehicle to harsh conditions like rain or car washes. This will ensure that the spoiler is firmly attached and that the adhesive bond is fully set.
  • Final Check:After 24 hours, inspect the spoiler to ensure it is securely attached. If needed, gently press down on any areas that may need additional bonding.
