Tesla to Unveil Model S and Model X Plaid: World’s Fastest Production Cars in China

Tesla is looking to make a splash in the Chinese market by unveiling its latest EVs: the 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid and the 2022 Tesla Model X Plaid at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) on November 5.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker said it would showcase its entire "S3XY" family of models at the event, which will be held in Shanghai.

Moreover, Shanghai happens to be Tesla’s largest EV export hub’s base. The automaker has been working with the Chinese government to increase its production and sales in China.

The official announcement was first made through its official social media account in China, with Tesla releasing a short clip on its Weibo page that showcased the Model S and X Plaid.

The video also showed a quick glimpse at the new Plaid models with their impressive design and incredible speed capabilities.

The world’s fastest production cars will be the first to feature Tesla’s new carbon motor propulsion system. The system accelerates the EV from 0-100 km/h in 2.1 seconds.

Both vehicles will also feature 100 kWh battery packs, which is more than the size of the 70 kWh battery that comes standard on current models.

Currently, the top accelerating Tesla Model available in the Australian market is the Tesla Model 3 that accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

The Model S will retail at $222,000 after inclusion of subsidies. However, you should still expect to get it for that price.

You should expect to pay significantly more than that. That's because this car is made to be a world-record breaker—and it has been!

It will be interesting to see how the Tesla Plaid compares to other supercars already in China, such as the Lamborghini Urus and Audi R8 e-Tron.

Customers in China have been waiting for these models since they were launched. However, the demand has been higher than expected. As a result, customers could not order both Model S and Model Y simultaneously.

However, there are plans to increase supplies from California, which will make it easier for customers in China to get their hands on these models as well.

Hansshows view:

The production team's expansion of the Tesla brand outside the US is a laudable move. It is exciting to witness the new experiences of customers with innovative EVs.

The Model X and S are both high-performance vehicles that have been engineered with extreme attention to detail. Each model has a unique design, but they also share some special features that make them stand out from other EVs on the market today.

One of these features is that both models are equipped with dual motors and all-wheel drive, which means they can accelerate quicker than any other production car on earth – even those with higher price tags!
