Oracle's Tesla Cybertruck Police Car Is Extremely Cool And Intimidating

During the Oracle CloudWorld 2023 conference, Oracle chairman of the board and chief technology officer Larry Ellison shared the company's vision for a highly connected future. For law enforcement, this future includes the Tesla Cybertruck, which was showcased by the tech veteran during his keynote. 

Why it matters: The Tesla Cybertruck is arguably one of the toughest vehicles that are expected to be released in the near future. With its stainless steel body, the Cybertruck would be able to provide an extra layer of protection to its occupants. This means that the Cybertruck has the makings of a great police vehicle.

Tesla police vehicles have been tested for years, and so far, they have performed very well. According to Pasadena Star-News back in May, a California police department opted to convert its entire patrol fleet to Tesla Model 3 and Model Y police vehicles. Once the Cybertruck gets released, it will probably be used by law enforcement generously as the pickup is already durable to begin with.

What's happening: Oracle's Tesla Cybertruck police car is part of the company's new first responder system. The solution uses satellite and terrestrial technologies to ensure that it will be a fail-safe mobile network, according to The National News. 

During his talk, Ellison showed an image depicting Oracle's next-generation Cybertruck police car. The vehicle shown in Ellison's image was decked out in police mods, such as a siren on top of the windshield and a bullbar in front. With its large wheels, all-terrain tires, and police wrap, the Cybertruck in the Oracle executive's presentation looked very intimidating.  

What experts are saying: Ellison had a lot of good things to say about the Cybertruck, especially in its law enforcement package. The Oracle executive admitted that just like Elon Musk, he considers the Cybertruck his favorite car right now. 

"Our next-generation police car is coming out very soon. It's my favorite police car. It's my favorite car, actually. It's Elon's favorite car. It's incredible. I know too much about it... but, among other things, it's very safe, very fast, it's got a stainless steel body, and we don't have to add cameras to it because we actually use their existing cameras and screen to put our application on it," Ellison said.
