Texas isn't the only thing big in Austin these days. Tesla's much-anticipated Cybertruck appears to be rolling out in earnest, judging by a surge in sightings at the Giga Texas factory.

Drone pilot Joe Tegtmeyer, a keen observer of the facility's progress, recently captured images of roughly 40 Cybertrucks parked in a temporary holding lot. This temporary relocation, Tegtmeyer explained, is due to ongoing construction on the south end of the factory.

Social media buzz further confirms the production ramp-up. Reservation holders have been sharing ecstatic posts about receiving delivery invitations, while videos of personalized Cybertruck wraps have also surfaced. The sheer volume of these sightings paints a promising picture, as they seemingly surpass Tesla's previous conservative estimates for the vehicle's initial ramp.

Elon Musk previously stated that the Cybertruck's real production bump would occur in 2024. Judging by the growing Cybertruck population at Giga Texas, it seems his forecast might be spot-on. And while Elon Musk is not necessarily the most accurate when it comes to Tesla production ramp estimates, the company has pulled off a solid "underpromise and overdeliver" strategy before with the Model Y. Tesla could do the same with the Cybertruck.

To be fair, the Cybertruck is designed to be a vehicle that's pretty easy to build. Tesla learned as much from previous projects like the Model 3 and Model X. The company's best selling car, the Model Y, is built to be efficient and easy to produce, and it has worked beautifully for Tesla. In 1Q23, the Model Y became the world's best-selling car.

While it's still early days, the increasing Cybertruck presence is a positive sign for both the vehicle and Tesla. Production appears to be accelerating, potentially bringing the futuristic truck to eager hands sooner than initially anticipated. So, buckle up, and keep your eyes peeled – the Cybertruck revolution may be closer than you think.
