On the official Weibo account Tesla, there is news roaming that two new models of EV giant Tesla are about to be released.
Tesla has received pre-orders for the world's fastest production car S-Plaid and fastest SUV X-Plaid models recently. But there is neither any car issued in the news nor the delivery date has been specified.
According to caijing.com.cn, the new model S/X Plaid will be debuted on Mainland with a new internal layout and adornment.
The CIIE will be held on 5th November in Shanghai. Tesla's largest Electric Vehicle hub is also based there.
Tesla claims that the Model S Plaid has a 637-kilometer endurance range. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and has a top speed of 322 km/h.
The Model S and Model X, which are not locally produced, can currently be reserved on Tesla's Chinese website. However, the page does not provide pricing information and states that both models are still awaiting regulatory approval.
Notably, the Model S and Model X were listed in China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) most recent list of NEVs free from vehicle purchase tax, which was published on October 11.
The purchase tax exemption for NEVs in China is currently extended till the end of 2023 after originally being scheduled to end at the end of this year.
The Model S and Model X each have two variants with a 100-kWh battery capacity in the MIIT catalog. Also, this year at CIIE, Tesla has planned to embody its robotic inventions like Tesla Bot and Optimus.
